this thread is related to the thread #78978, "Problem with VFP7 and Shell DLL on WinNT 4 SP6a".

The MSDN library states: Requirements
Version 4.71 and later of Shell32.dll

Windows NT/2000: Requires Windows 2000 (or Windows NT 4.0 with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later).

This can be found at the bottom of the description of the function SHGetSpecialFolderPath. Therefore, anyone would guess that installing MS IE ver. 5.0 and later should also upgrade the Shell32.DLL in WinNT\System32 directory - right?

However, installation of the MS IE ver. 5 (or ver. 6, according to the customer) did not replace original Shell32.DLL ver. 4.00 with that later version 5.xx that's supposed to come with MS IE 5.

Thus, MS Help has proven to be incorrect or/and inconsistent (well, misleading anyway) yet again.
