Hi Randy,

I am not Emerson or Ismail, but...

I believe the scripting host is on all Windows PCs, however some administrators disable it, so you cannot rely on it always being available.

> 2. Instead of putting the shortcut on the desktop, I'd like to put it in the startup folder so it executes when the user boots windows. Is this possible, or is there a better way to do that?

Yes, you should be able to do that.

> 3. Does Fox give us a way to put our apps in the system tray so that they're always running? My app needs to continually run, continually monitor a third-party's database, so I'd rather the client not be able to easily kill it (right-click, Quit is fine).

Check out the SysTray class in the Solutions.app that comes with VFP 9.

Hope this helps,

Frank.
