I agree with Craig - if you can make a business out of VFP and enjoy using it continue to do so but as he said if someone offers you $200000 to make a new Android App...

Look, put simply MS will not scuttle VFP. They will maintain shared libraries for as long as anything they're supporting uses those libraries.

The problem is the VFP core -- at some stage... 1 week, 1 year or 1 decade --- it will need some work on it to make it run better, talk with new hardware and/or patch a security issue.

If MS is not providing these fixes and the community is unable to then VFP becomes a little less reliable, a little less usable and/or a risk to use. Add one, two, ... of these little problems and you have a big problem.

I hope... really hope... that the core is released to the public; so VFP lives on... maintained by the community but, as I have already stated, I can't see why MS would want to do this.
