Binod,

I like your quote.   And I would go even further.   A good idea could
payback not $2 dollars, but $200 or even $2,000 or more.

In the software business, the multiplier can be huge. If you look at the great
software companies out there, the power of one great software architect is worth
the value of 200 guys with lesser skills. A software firm could be worth millions
of dollars, but it all depends on the knowledge of a few smart guys who are
task many others to pound out the sub-tasks.

If you look at the smart guys on this forum, many of them have experience that is
100 times more powerful than the average skilled VFP professional.

I am a market research analyst in the telecom industry and the knowledge / analytics
systems that are being created right now can enable a company's managers to
make big decisions with facts they could never get their hands on before.

Everyone knows about collaborative software such as Microsoft Word that allows you to
track the editing changes of many people.

But imagine if you could get teams of people in a company -- some in sales, and some in
engineering -- working together across a common software tool. That takes collaboration
to a much higher level.

That's what some of the companies I follow are doing.   This is powerful
stuff because it has the same multiplier effect.

If you are interested, I wrote a white paper sponsored by a Silicon Valley company
called Netformx. The paper can be downloaded from my website.

It's one example of the superior collaborative management software that's coming.

And what if the people on this forum put their heads together and created something
of value that could be used in every country of the world.

Wouldn't that be interesting?

Dan B.
