To view a PDF, you need some kind of a viewer. Personally I hate Adobe, so instead I use NitroPDF, http://www.nitropdf.com/. Note that they have several versions, some of which can also edit PDFs. The simple PDF viewer is free.

There's a fine line between helping and adding to the confusion.
