Could be also that your msvcrt.dll in windows\system may be damaged.

I suggest you use a file monitor like FILEMON and see what are the files accessed by your EXE. Then DELETE these files (sfter backing up) and do a full REINSTALL of VFP, as otherwise the damaged file will not be replaced.
