The FRX is simply a table that stores all of the information needed for VFP to create a report. What the report designer does is to allow you to create and populate the records in this able using the user interface. You could, if you really wanted to, create an entire new report by filling in the fields in the table by hand (it would not be easy though!).

The use of the the fields in this, and all other VFP system tables (like the Database Container, Menu, Project, Form and Class Library) are described in reports that ship with VFP. You will find all those reports in the "\Tools\Filespec" directroy under your VFP installation. The report description is actually in two reports named: "60frx1.frx" and "60frx2.frx"
