> In sales, at least at this side of the world, you don't need to BE; just to APPEARS TO BE. I had lost many sales just because the customer's IT manager still thinks that VFP = DBF = OLD TECHNOLOGY. If I can say that my app is a C++ nativa APP (even if, at the end, is just a loader for PCODE + VFP runtime) maybe I woudn't lost that sales. It doesn't matter, at the end, if it really a native 64 bit app or not; if APPEARS TO BE one is enough for me :)

AFAIK 64 bit VFP Compiler will be simply 64 bit loader for internally hidden 32 bit VFP runtime. So, neither performance nor memory advantages. The only advantage I see is, as Tom Saddul wrote, 'app be treated by ignorant prospective clients as a C++ application'. I may add: 'low qualification clients'.

I agree. I guess the customers wouldn't know the difference since they will be satisfied with your application anyway. When satisfied, they forget what's inside. Even with their IT managers, they wouldn't know that it is a VFP app lurking inside (LOL) unless they hack inside your app which I think is not that easy because the C++ application is protected.

I'll wait and see when it is released. Another hope for VFP's future!
