> In sales, at least at this side of the world, you don't need to BE; just to APPEARS TO BE. I had lost many sales just because the customer's IT manager still thinks that VFP = DBF = OLD TECHNOLOGY. If I can say that my app is a C++ nativa APP (even if, at the end, is just a loader for PCODE + VFP runtime) maybe I woudn't lost that sales. It doesn't matter, at the end, if it really a native 64 bit app or not; if APPEARS TO BE one is enough for me :)

I see your point but I take Leonid's position as well.

The major issue I would take in what you say is in the use of the word NATIVE because even if you are bending the truth slightly calling it C++ and 64-Bit those might be small untruths. Using the word NATIVE is a big fat lie no matter how you look at it because it is not native C++ and it is not native 64-Bit.

Over here we take a position that it is very bad to lie to clients whether they be users or potential clients. You tell a lie to a client and they can find you out and the best that will happen is that they lose respect for you but it could be a lot worse. As much as Tom says it is unlikely they will decompile your application and find the truth that way there are other ways to find the truth, like doing a search on Foxite :-)

In many parts of the world VFP has a terrible image and half the battle is with ignorant IT staff who'll ignore the quality of an app simply because it is written in something that they consider dead or old fashioned so I understand why you would like to fudge the truth but there are white lies and then there are complete and utter pants-on-fire lies and using the word NATIVE ignites the underwear of your claim that your app would be a C++ Native 64-Bit application.

Just my 2p
