The network traffic generated - Win7 needs to be tweaked to handle that.

I get around that by installing a linux server with a samba share - works mostly the same for W2K functionality on a peer to peer share.

Machines are cheap. Linux Distros even cheaper - suggest you get a knoppix cd over at http://www.knoppix.org or http://www.knoppix.de and go forth - revert/keep it as a 'console machine' and nothing with xWinders.

Good Luck !

The old machine was an 800 mhz p6 and this one is a 3.4 Ghz machine. the workstation accessing this peer server are a mixture of win2k, xp, vista and win7 machines (total of 15). No changes have been made to the program just all files where copied from a backup to the new win7 machine.
> Problem is now that an Select SQL statement that took 10 seconds when running it on a WS accessing the old win2k peer to peer server will now take 85 seconds with the win7 professional machine running as a peer to peer server.
> Running the query on the win7 machine itself goes lightning fast. So there has to be a problem with the networking and VFP in regards to win7. Regular networking like copying a file from one machine to another performs as expected.
