Try using SYS(1104) its not documented for versions below VFP 7 but is available at least in VFP6 SP3. Personally, I have not been able to test on versions below that yet.

This function purges memory cached by programs and data. According to the Help file, "You can improve performance by calling SYS(1104) after executing commands that make extensive use of memory buffers."
