Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately, I am working with a MySQL database, so I can't use a trigger, and because the database is probably going to be set in a remote server, it's not efficient to be checking for updates with a timer. That's why I thought of something that could just send a little signal to the application and it would react by fetching the details of the shipment.
