VFP AND ADO (PART 2 OF 2)

This form shows how to use the ADO Connection and Record Set to talk to a Microsoft Access Database. This is a follow up to the first example which opens a table and displays the contents in a ListView control, this example on the other hand shows how to manipulate the data via the RecordSet. This example will allow you to Add, Edit and Delete records, it also allows you to move through the dataset. The RecordSet.Open function allows a couple of ways to obtain data. In the First example I used a SELECT - SQL statement to obtain the data, in the second example I use the table name. I will answer any other questions regarding the use of ADO with VFP.

FEEDBACK

Simon,
I have a small manufacturing company with its data in dbf files through a program written in foxdos. They have purchased a scheduler that is in MSAccess. I need to write an exe in vfp that will pull info from the dbfs and insert it into the tables of the mdb. What is the best method to achieve this with stability?

Thanks,
Dan

HELLO MR. SIMON ARNOLD
I AM ANAND FROM INDIA . I HAVE DOWNLODED YOUR VPFADO PART 1/1 AND 1/2 . I AM IMPRESSED . I AM USEING FOXPRO 2.00 TO VFP9 FROM LAST 10 YEARS . IN FOXPRO WE CAN MAKE ANYTHING . BUT DUE TO DATA SECURITY THERE ARE CERTAIN LIMITS .
SO I THINK THAT IF WE USE VFP9 AS FRONT END AND MSACCESS AS BACKEND IT IS SEQURE THEN OUR .DBC OR DBF FILES .
WHEN I SAW YOUR BOTH PARTS OF ADO CONNECTIONS I HAVE FOLLOWING QUERIES
1 HOW TO SEEK A PERTICULAR RECORD
2 HOW TO INDEX , .IDX OR .CDX
3 HOW TO USE ADO THROUGH REPORT WRITER IN VFP9
